About the novel

Zora, a cyborg, must escape a deep-sea mining prison and save her found family before a vicious corporation turns her into a mindless killing machine. She doesn’t know that her brother, who she hasn’t seen in years, works for the cruel corporation and is headed to the prison, too. To make things more complicated, he thinks Zora died a decade ago.

When twins Jack and Zora were eight years old, a terrible lab accident killed their parents and teleported Zora to the water world planet Eramos—minus some limbs and an eye. Kind strangers took her in and fitted her with cybernetic limbs. After a decade of growing up in this strange world, Zora scavenges with her family while living in a hidden bunker while Jack now works for the Sylas Corporation on Earth. Zora’s always looking to steal cool tech, but her latest break-in results in the capture of her and her found family by Sylas soldiers.

Jack gets sent to Eramos to work at a deep-sea mining base—the same barbaric base in which Zora has been imprisoned. As their bio family’s nightmarish secrets come to light, they realize the true horror of Sylas. The siblings must survive on a vicious planet that wants to kill them while the evil conglomerate Sylas hunts them down to turn Zora into a soulless weapon against the rebels and force Jack into a no-win situation of doing the corporations’ ruthless bidding. Yet, running away puts the lives of those they love at risk.

This science fiction story contains fantastical elements, mild horror, and themes of found family. It’s an accessible science fiction novel for those new to the genre.
