Getting Ready for National Novel Writing Month

Even when you're busy, you can STILL make time to write. But how??

This has been a hard few months for me, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I've put writing on the back burner. While focus has shifted towards reviewing movies and beta reading for fellow authors, I haven't stopped thinking about my works in progress.

Right now, I'm particularly excited about my next project, a cosmic horror novel that takes place on a cargo ship racing through the solar system. A woman is alone on this ship, and finds out the ship is headed in the wrong direction, AND something is on board with her. To make matters worse, she's suffering from terrifying hallucinations and has to fight to distinguish fact from fiction. I'm confident that kids are the scariest things in horror (sorry kids!), so I've added some creepy scenes that will make your skin crawl! (These scenes scare me while I'm writing them!)

I have been preparing myself to participate in National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo by adjusting my daily schedule to make time for writing. It hasn't been easy to get back into the writing mood, especially with my busy day jobs and the additional task of watching and reviewing horror movies every day for TikTok in October. However, despite the challenges, I am thrilled to dive back into writing and complete my cosmic horror novel! If you've ever participated in NaNo, you know how important the camradarie is. I feed into that, so it's my favorite time of the year to write!

NaNoWriMo (or as I call it, NaNo), is an annual event that takes place in November, where writers from all around the world aim to write a 50,000-word novel within the month. It's a fantastic opportunity to challenge myself and unleash my creativity. I've won NaNo three times in the past three years, so I'm determined to make the most out of this exciting writing adventure and bring my novel to fruition!

Are you participating in NaNoWriMo this year? Let's be buddies! Add me here!
